A block is a reason for an event that happens in your Activity and Schedule. This could be for annual leave, sickness, a regular event such as fire drills, generic meetings, training sessions etc.

To add or edit a Block, in the MORE menu > BLOCKS.

Click on the green '+ Add Block' button or to edit an existing Block, click on the pencil icon next to the Blocks Name.

The edit Block window, lets go through each pane one by one:

Block Information:

Give the Block a Name, this could be e.g. Sickness, Meeting, Training, Exhibition, Annual Leave/Vacation etc.

Its visibility

Any descriptions e.g. if the Block was Sickness, these could be sub-reasons for sickness such as migraine, headache, toothache etc.

Workflow: This is where you can choose a contact that has to approve or decline a block request. e.g. if a manager needs to approve or decline a holiday request.

Block Settings:

Allow Name Edit - Are you going to allow Users/Team Members to edit the Name of the Block when e.g. adding this Block to their Schedule.

Allow Conflicts - Can this block be added to the Schedule if there are existing events on at the same time for the User/Team Member.

Private - If this is a Private Block, when a Team Member selects it in their Schedule, other Team Members will see the event listed as 'Private' in the Schedule but the Person/User will see the Block name for what it is.

Exclude Public Holidays - For example, if this is an Annual Leave Block, if the Block was added/overran on a Public Holiday, it would not take into account e.g. a Day from the Default Annual Quantity. Increment - Increments of the Blocks duration in Minutes, Hours, Days or Weeks.

Default Annual Qty - The quantity of Minutes, Hours, Days or Weeks each User/Team Member is entitled to use for this Block. e.g. 28 days holiday.

Renewal - The date the Block resets itself for all Team Members e.g. 1st January, 1st April etc.

Default Event Length - The default duration of the Block e.g. a Meeting Block of 1 hour.

Min Event Length - The minimum duration of the Block e.g. a Meeting Block has to be a minimum of 1 hour.

Max Event Length - The maximum duration of the Block e.g. a Meeting Block can be no longer than 2 hours.

Max in Period - The maximum amount of time allowed for a Period.

Period - The period can be set as Annual, Calendar Month, Fortnight, Week or Day.

Block Timesheet:

If the Blocks Increments is set in Days or Weeks, On Timesheet the Block can be set to Match the Team Members Schedule, Match their Core Hours or set to be overridden in Minutes.

If a Blocks settings are changed and the Block has been in use by Team Members for some time, this can dramatically impact how it has been used.
